Just a note about this, not really a set of instructions.
It appears installing mysql-server on Ubuntu 14.04 64 minimal and Debian 7 64 minimal, generates an error. The solution is very simple.
While installing mysql-server, we got this error:
/var/lib/dpkg/info/mysql-server-5.5.postinst: line 236: logger: command not found ATTENTION: An error has occured. More info is in the syslog!
The installation halts with this message:
Errors were encountered while processing: mysql-server-5.5 mysql-server E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
You can see the error on the video for these instructions (at 2:27).
The simple solution:
sudo apt-get install bsdutils, then
sudo apt-get --reinstall install mysql-server
The problem was with logger. It appears it was not installed.
